Start testing through Policing Redefined’s drug-testing menu. Cryptic Evidence does not use a separate launch hotkey.

Starting a Test

  1. Go on duty.
  2. Open Policing Redefined’s drug-testing menu.
  3. Select the evidence item.
  4. Choose the family you want to test.

Available families are:

  • Opioid
  • Hallucinogen
  • Amphetamine
  • Antipsychotic

These are Policing Redefined’s gameplay categories.

Controls

Follow the instruction displayed for the current step.

Physical Form

The plugin first checks for an exact description profile, then tries to infer the form from the evidence description.

If the description is unknown or ambiguous, select a form manually:

  • Powder
  • Crystal
  • Tablet
  • Liquid
  • Plant
  • Residue
  • Blotter
Physical form controls sample presentation and handling. It does not identify the drug.

Preparing the Test

  1. Verify the selected evidence.
  2. Hold the wrapper and pull right to open it.
  3. Select the collection tool.
  4. Hold on the evidence to collect a trace.
  5. Transfer the trace into the sample port.
  6. Seal the pouch.
  7. Crush ampoules A, B and C in order.
  8. Release the mouse button between ampoules and allow each reagent to settle.
  9. Hold the pouch and shake using broad alternating mouse movements.
  10. Wait for the reaction to develop.
Mixing requires movement and direction changes. Holding the mouse button still does not complete it.

Stage 1: Family Screen

Compare the displayed reaction lanes with the family reference.

Choose:

  • Match
  • No Match
  • Inconclusive

A supported match offers two choices: continue with a fresh pouch for Stage 2, or record only the family screen.

A family-only result leaves the Policing Redefined analysis flag unchanged.

Stage 2: Specific Identification

Prepare and develop the fresh pouch, then compare the reaction with the candidate patterns.

Select the candidate that matches, or choose Inconclusive.

A correct identification can mark the original item as analyzed when writeback is enabled.

An incorrect candidate produces an inconclusive result.

Cancellation

Press Escape to close the workbench.

The plugin also cancels if the selected evidence changes or leaves the inventory.

Cancelling before completion does not create a completed-test result or mark the item as analyzed.
