This guide explains how to install Cryptic Callouts for Grand Theft Auto V Legacy and LSPDFR.

Before installing, confirm that GTA V Legacy, RagePluginHook and LSPDFR are working correctly. Check the requirements listed for your Cryptic Callouts release.

Installation

  1. Download the latest version of Cryptic Callouts from LCPDFR.com.
  2. Extract the downloaded archive.
  3. Open the extracted folder and locate the installation files.
  4. Copy the files into your Grand Theft Auto V Legacy installation directory, preserving the folder structure supplied with the download.
  5. Allow folders to merge when prompted.

Your game installation directory is the folder containing GTA5.exe.

Follow the folder structure included in the archive. Do not place the entire extracted download folder inside your game directory.

Plugin Location

The Cryptic Callouts plugin belongs in:

Grand Theft Auto V Legacy\plugins\LSPDFR\

Install accompanying files in the locations shown by the supplied folder structure.

Missing files or incorrect installation paths can prevent Cryptic Callouts from loading or cause problems during callouts.

Updating an Existing Installation

  1. Close GTA V and RagePluginHook.
  2. Back up your existing Cryptic Callouts configuration.
  3. Extract the latest download.
  4. Copy the updated files into your GTA V Legacy directory, preserving the supplied folder structure.
  5. Replace older Cryptic Callouts files when prompted.
  6. Review the new configuration and transfer your preferred values into the corresponding supported settings.
Use the configuration included with the new release as your starting point. Overwriting it with an older file may remove new settings or restore options that are no longer supported.

Configuration

Cryptic Callouts includes a configuration file for the settings supported by your installed version.

Close the game before editing the file, then save your changes before launching GTA V again.

Back up your configuration before editing or updating it. Compare your backup with the newly supplied file when transferring your preferred settings.

Confirming Installation

  1. Launch GTA V Legacy through RagePluginHook.
  2. Load LSPDFR and go on duty.
  3. Check the RagePluginHook log for Cryptic Callouts loading messages or errors.
  4. Continue your patrol and check that Cryptic Callouts scenarios are available.
Callout selection is random. Not receiving a Cryptic Callouts scenario immediately does not necessarily mean the installation has failed.

If the Plugin Does Not Load

Check that:

  • You are using Grand Theft Auto V Legacy.
  • RagePluginHook and LSPDFR work correctly.
  • All dependencies listed for your release are installed.
  • The plugin is located in plugins\LSPDFR.
  • Accompanying files follow the supplied folder structure.

Review your RagePluginHook log for errors before reinstalling.

When requesting support, include your Cryptic Callouts version, a description of the problem and your RagePluginHook log. For a problem during a callout, include its name and what happened immediately before the issue.
